A man named "Zapp" has arrived at the cathedral several times now requiring healing. Apparently he was severely beaten in a fistfight, smacked with a guitar, had hot coffee thrown in his face, and has suffered numerous other injuries.

I realize Ser Zapp is something of a... buffoon, as it were, but we healers would much appreciate it if you all refrained from using violence in your attempts to deter him. If I Have to deal with his whining one more time, I swear...

After all that effort, it just disappeared... I can't believe I lost a melon.  I mean, they're so big, and brightly colored, especially considering how drab these apartments are...

Just a belated hiatus time note, I should have posted earlier but the last few days have eated me. My parents came back from teaching overseas for their summer vacation and have been kidnapping me for quality time a lot more than I expected. Thus I haven't been able to been on the computer for more than a few minutes per day if that. I'm so tired right now from heat and lack of sleep that I'm probably rambling and repeating myself, sorry...

I'm getting pretty tired of people complaining about the food.

No, those little hard chunks in the meals aren't bits of plaster or the missing residents or whatever other 'clever' ideas you've had. It's because it's cooked unevenly and burned. Yes, I burn the food. Constantly. Including soup, somehow. I also mix up ingredients and yesterday I forgot to debone the fish entirely and sent half the portions out still scaly. I can't cook, I admit it. Are you happy now? What do you want from me, I'm a ninja, not a chef! You people make me sick. Bitch, bitch, bitch, you can all go to Hell.

I find already that listening to its idle, tranquil chirping... is rather soothing most of the time. Even when sleeping. It's not as much of a bother as I suppose it ought to be. I don't think it will be such a bad thing, perhaps. The knowledge of another presence in the room, even one as small as that of an animal... it is nice to have.
